The Redskins may have found a new starting running back, acquiring Tim Hightower from the Cardinals, in exchange for defensive end Vonnie Holiday and a conditional late-round draft pick, according to ESPN.
Hightower gained 736 yards and scored five touchdowns last season as part of a two-back system with Beanie Wells. The Cardinals drafted running back Ryan Williams in the second round, making Hightower expendable.
Moving to the Redskins will give Hightower a chance to be a featured back at age 25. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has struck gold with running backs before, and will hope that Hightower becomes his latest find.
