Kevin Durant may soon become the next NBA star to try his hand at being a movie star.
The Oklahoma City Thunder forward is close to finalizing a deal with Warner Bros. to star in a feature-length motion picture, The Oklahoman reported Sunday night.
Production on the film, which the newspaper reported will have a basketball theme, is scheduled to begin in mid-September. The film will be shot on location in Oklahoma City or Baton Rouge, La., The Oklahoman reported, citing anonymous sources.
Neither Durant nor his representatives could be reached for comment, according to The Oklahoman?s report.
NBA training camps are scheduled to begin in late September, but an on-time start is not expected because of the ongoing lockout of players.
The Oklahoman speculated that most of Durant's scenes could be wrapped up before the season, depending on when his scenes are shot and when the lockout ends.
The list of pro players who?ve hit the big screen is a long one, highlighted by Julius Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O?Neal and Ray Allen.
