Baltimore Ravens team report: Billy Cundiff whiffing on long field goals

OWINGS MILLS Md.?Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he might have to re-think before sending Billy Cundiff out to kick long field goals. Cundiff was a Pro Bowl kicker a year ago, but has missed five out of six from outside of 50 yards, the worst streak in his career from long distance.

Inside the 50, Cundiff is 20-of-21. With the weather changing, Harbaugh might become more conservative and rely on field position and his defense instead of taking more risks with Cundiff.

Notes: Pro Bowl inside linebacker Ray Lewis didn't attend the first 20 minutes of Wednesday?s practice, which is opened to the media. Lewis didn't suffer an injury Sunday against Seattle, but he did have his right forearm wrapped during his media session with reporters earlier in the day. ? Veteran receiver Lee Evans practiced, and the Ravens could use him. In the past two games, rookie receiver Torrey Smith, Evans' replacement, has dropped several passes. In the second half of the season, it's always interesting to watch rookies because some times they hit the proverbial wall as far as fatigue. College seasons aren't as long as the pro seasons, so Evans' return could have a major impact.
