Oakland Raiders team report: Darren McFadden out again

OAKLAND?Running back Darren McFadden will miss his second straight game as a result of the foot sprain that forced him to miss most of the Chiefs game Oct. 23.

His foot remains in a protective boot, though he is making progress. The hope now is that he can return for the game against the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 20.

The Raiders are fortunate in that they have Michael Bush there to fill the void, with rookie Taiwan Jones ready for added reps as the complementary back.

Bush has rushed for more than 95 yards in the past two games in relief of McFadden. The Raiders offense doesn?t change much with Bush as the lead back. However, the Raiders miss McFadden?s receiving ability when he isn?t on the field. He is more explosive than Bush as a receiver and gives the Raiders offense more options.

Notes: Kicker Sebastian Janikowski is at less than full strength. Still, he will kick for the second straight game with a sore left (kicking leg) hamstring. He won?t be able to kick field goals from as far away as usual, yet he should be reliable from 50-55 yards out. If his leg doesn?t heal more between now and the Vikings game, the Raiders likely will bring in another kicker until Janikowski returns to full strength.
