FARMINGTON, Mich.?Services are scheduled former Detroit Red Wings assistant coach Brad McCrimmon, who was among those killed when a private jet carrying Russian professional teamYaroslavl Lokomotiv crashed shortly after takeoff.
Visitation is 4:30 p.m. ET until 9 p.m. ET Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in the Detroit suburb of Farmington, the Archdiocese of Detroit says. A funeral Mass is noon Saturday at the church.
McCrimmon was named Lokomotiv coach in May after two years with the Wings. He died in the Sept. 7 crash. The former NHL player was 52.
The Wings' Saturday morning training camp session will start about two hours earlier than scheduled so team members can fly to the Detroit area from Traverse City for the funeral services, The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports. Saturday's scrimmage is canceled.
