The news surrounding Colts QB Peyton Manning seems to get worse by the day.
Team owner Jim Irsay tweeted this morning:
"NFL Season opens 2nite!We had a good practice yesterday and r guys r fired up 4 the season.#18's out for awhile,but compete,we will/BELIEVE"
It was just yesterday that Indianapolis announced that the four-time MVP's streak of 227 consecutive starts would come to an end Sunday when the Colts open their season at Houston.
As for speculation that Manning has already had or will require more surgery on his injured neck, Irsay offered this late last night:
"Peyton didn't have a medical procedure last sunday,we'll have more info 2 add clarity 2 situation soon"
