Woman to allege sex assault by former Wake Forest players in 'Today' spot

A former female Wake Forest student claims she was sexually assaulted by two former Demon Deacons men's basketball players the night before an NCAA Tournament game in 2009.

The woman will tell her story on NBC's "Today" show Thursday morning, according to the National Coalition Against Violent Athletes (NCAVA), an advocacy group that says it has been working with the woman and her family. The group posted an announcement on its Facebook page Monday.

The assault allegedly occurred the night before the Demon Deacons played Cleveland State in Miami in a first-round NCAA game. Wake, seeded fourth in the Midwest Region in '09, lost to the No. 13 Vikings, 84-69. NCAVA, in its Facebook posting, said the woman will appear on "Today" at 7:45 a.m. ET Thursday.
