Tennessee lands ex-Pitt power forward Miller

Former Pitt forward Dwight Miller, who spent last season playing in junior college, will return to Division I as a new member of the Tennessee Volunteers.

A skilled 6-8, 245-pound power player, Miller redshirted as a freshman and transferred out after playing just 84 minutes of action in the 2009-10 season, but he excelled at Midland College of Texas and led the school to the NJCAA championship game. Miller scored in double figures in the semifinals and finals of the national tournament.

He was rated the No. 10 prospect among junior college players by JucoJunction.com.

?Dwight started his career at Pitt, so he has an understanding of what it takes to play at this level,? new Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin said in a statement. ?He?s a physical player who plays hard all the time and can play inside and outside. He?ll be a good addition for us.?
