Just a few days after LeBron James told haters to get a life in response to a question about fans rooting against him and the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, he's taking a kindler, gentler approach.
The two-time MVP posted a message on his personal web site Tuesday humbly admitting he has "a lot to learn" -- and "a lot of work to do" in the off-season. He graciously congratulates the Mavs and thanks Heat fans and management for their support this season.
James gracious attitude toward the victorious Mavs is far cry from his and Dwyane Wade's apparent mocking of Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki's fever and sinus infection before the pivotal Game 5.

Here's full statement from LeBron:
Congratulations Mavericks on the championship...especially Dirk (Nowitzki), (Jason) Kidd & (Jason) Terry who have done so much for our league and worked so hard to get here. They deserve all the credit for what they have accomplished. Thank you to all my family, friends and especially the fans for standing by me this year. Miami fans are incredible. A special thank you to my teammates, coaches and Pat Riley and Micky Arison for all of their support. A lot to learn from this year, a lot to build on, and a lot of work to do this summer.
James' attitude toward the Mavs and promise to become better went over well with some Game On! readers.
"I'm very proud of how you just handled this. Congrats and I hope you do better next year," writes BCain.
Brent Vermillion adds: "This will only enhance his hunger to eventually breakthrough and potentially win multiple titles."
Other Game On!ers spell a spin doctor at work. They believe the statement was written by one of James' advisors, not himself.
"Must be his attorney or agent for sure, as the agent wants to keep his valve high in case another team wants his half-hearted play," writes Rick Murray.
