Carson Palmer isn?t likely to return to the Cincinnati Bengals. Just ask his brother.
Bengals quarterback Jordan Palmer, who spoke to media members Wednesday after team workouts, referred to Carson as a ?former teammate,? according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Carson Palmer has asked the team to trade him ? which owner Mike Brown says he won?t do ? or he will retire.
When pressed as to whether he was feeling any effects from his brother?s stance, Jordan Palmer said: ?I?m getting myself prepared to be the guy. If I?m not, I want to get this team as prepared as they can be. I?m separating myself from what Carson is doing. He?s my brother, but he?s a former teammate going a different route and I?m focusing in what is front of me.?
The Enquirer also reported that both Jordan Palmer and rookie QB Andy Dalton looked sharp. Cincinnati drafted Dalton early in the second round this year to be its quarterback of the future, but Jordan Palmer has said in the offseason that he?s preparing as if he?ll be the starter.
?I definitely want to be the guy, I?m preparing to be the guy,? Palmer said. ?I?ve also told (Dalton) that if he?s the guy it?s not because I?ve helped him out too much. It?s going to be because he?s more ready and better,? Palmer said. ?When Carson came here, he had Jon Kitna here to help him be a pro. I?m going to help (Dalton) be a pro. I?d love to help him get there as fast as he can.?
