Rangers' Sean Avery claims Capitals' Laich bit him

Sean Avery refused to go quietly. After his New York Rangers were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoff on Saturday, Avery was seen complaining to officials. His beef? Avery claimed Capitals forward Brooks Laich had bitten him.

Video evidence after the game was inconclusive as to whether Avery, among the NHL's biggest pests, actually was finger food for Laich.

Laich told the Washington Post he indeed had Avery's fingers in his mouth -- and that Avery had put them there.

" [Avery?s] fingers were in my mouth, and I remember thinking about that, that I?m not [going to be] stupid about biting a player,? Laich told the Post. "He was trying to eye gouge me, he was sticking his fingers in my mouth.?

Check out the video.

What is clear is that Avery chopped at Capitals goalie Michal Neuvirth before Laich came to separate Avery from a goal-mouth scrum. Moments later, Avery is seen complaining.
