Penn State cancels Joe Paterno's weekly press conference

Penn State president Graham Spanier has canceled coach Joe Paterno's weekly press conference scheduled for 12:20 p.m. ET in State College.

Paterno and Penn State are embroiled in the child abuse case of former Lions defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Paterno, according to Penn State officials, is "disappointed" the press conference was canceled.

Scott Paterno told The Associated Press that his father was prepared to take questions about the scandal and talk about Saturday's upcoming game against Nebraska.

Paterno also was not available for Tuesday's Big Ten teleconference.
